We bring different generations of women with Irish connections together to share experiences.
Make more time to talk one-to-one. We learn from each other, passing on stories, sharing past experiences - good times and sad times. We make sure Irish women’s stories become part of history.
The collective is called ‘Úna Gan a Gúna’ after a nonsense song some of us remember singing in secondary school in Cork in 1980: “Tá Úna Gan A Gúna, Tá Séine Gan A Léine”. It meant, as we remember it, “Úna is without her dress, Shane is without his shirt” – do you remember? It comes from a great skit on comhrá and sex education (or not) by Maureen Potter as Sister Gonzago from the late 1970s - you can watch it on YouTube.
