Would you like to volunteer as an oral history coordinator for Ó Ghlúin Go Glúin?
Role description
Act as the point of contact for Úna activity in your region, coordinating other volunteers and interviewees.
Serve as an ambassador for Úna in your region, distributing hard copy publicity materials such as posters and flyers at community hubs such as libraries, supermarkets, community centres.
Recruit oral history interviewees in your region, spreading the word confidently about the importance of Irish women sharing their stories with Úna to be archived.
Recruit oral history volunteers in your region, sharing information about the benefits of volunteering.
Attend training sessions and catch-up meetings with Úna trustees to liaise on tasks.
What skills or experience do I need?
Interest in social and feminist history
Access to a computer and reliable internet connection
Interpersonal skills to co-ordinate and recruit volunteers
Reliable with good time-keeping skills and availability to commit to the role
A good enough standard of English in speaking, reading and writing to communicate effectively
What’s the commitment?
To participate in training and induction as needed (remote)
To commit to a minimum of 2 hours per week for 6 months
To attend volunteer or supervisory type meetings to discuss tasks, experiences and
share best practice
Be familiar with and adhere to organisational policies and procedures
